English Writing

Independent American Children: an Indonesian View

My pen's friend ever said to me that my English has improved dramatically. Did he know that it has been caused by our email respondent.

It's really nice to have a pen's friend from abroad. We can write each other (of course I always use English when I am writing to him. Therefore my English is really good.)

Besides, we also know about our culture. Indonesian and American culture are really different indeed. Especially, about how American's parents teach their children. They build an independent characteristic of their children. They also teach their children how to get money when they are still in young age. I am not surprised when my pen's friend said that he worked for the first time in 14 years old as a cashier. Now, he has much more money so he can travel wherever he wants.

It is one thing which Asian parents especially Indonesian one never teach to their children. That's why Indonesian students are less independent than those in western country.
